“Pat” Alma Rose Stephens Hicks, age 74 of Winfield, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the LaFollette Medical Center in LaFollette, TN.  She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

Pat was born in Scott County, Tennessee on March 3, 1943 to the late Ezra and Roxie Stephens. She joined the New Light United Baptist Church in Winfield at the tender age of 17 and was a beloved lifetime member. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Hicks, to whom she was a proud and loving wife for 53 glorious years; brother and sister-in-law Estol and Susie Stephens; special uncle Everett Stephens; special cousin:  Donna King.

She is survived by her children, Darlene Hicks Slaven and Randy Hicks; her extended children whom she later in life she took under her loving wing Tiny Cox and husband Carl and Jeff King and wife Mary.  Their children as well as her own grandchildren loved her and called her “mamaw”.  She is survived by her grandchildren: Wesley Slaven, Colby and Bryson Hicks, extended grandchildren: Whitney Jeffers, Dalton, Breanna and Nathaniel Cox, Kadyn Trotter and Paul Keith Chambers; nieces and nephews: Melvin Stephens and wife Sue, Pauline and Beckham Eldridge and Louise and Bobby Phillips; special friend: Johnnie Posey; special nieces:  Bonnie Brown and Jennifer Miller; special cousin:  Nola Gayheart; special Healthcare providers: all the staff of Quality Home Health, special nurse Bridgett Smith, staff of Dr. Gary Phillips office and Shelby Potter; and many more relatives and friends.  Pat will be sadly missed by her church and her community, as she has touched so many lives in this world.

Friends may visit with the Hicks family on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the New Light United Baptist Church in Winfield.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the New Light United Baptist Church in Winfield with Bro. Melvin Stephens and Bro. Jeff Ledford officiating.  Music will be provided by the New Light Choir and John Waters. 

Burial will follow in the New Light Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and family.
