Ann (Parnell) Adkins (“Miss Ann”), born July 17, 1943, earned her heavenly reward on Saturday, May 6, 2017.  She was a faithful member of the Oneida Church of Christ where she loved teaching the 4 & 5 year olds and making bulletin boards.

She was preceded in death by her daddy, Bill Parnell, her mother, Edna Billingsley Parnell; and mother and father in law, Irene and Zola Adkins.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kelly Adkins of Winfield; one daughter, Debby Anderson (and husband, Galen) of Helenwood, and one son, George Adkins (and wife, Lori) of Johnson City; grandchildren , Kyle Anderson, Matthew Adkins, and Rebecca Adkins; brothers, Bob Parnell (and wife Carolyn) of Wichita, Kansas; Edwin Parnell (and wife, Ethel) of Mooresburg, Tennessee; and Mike Parnell (and wife, Doris) of Mooresville, Indiana; sister, Brenda Sue Parnell of San Francisco, California; brothers and sisters-in-law , Paul and Jo Ann Adkins, Larry and Loretta Adkins, and Bob and Sandra Stewart , all of Winfield, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home.  Speakers are Johnny Polk and Larry Cole with congregational singing led by Tom Purkey.

Interment will follow in the Carson Memorial Park.  Pallbearers are:  Kyle Anderson, Matthew Adkins, Paul Dean Adkins, Byron Billingsley, Seth Billingsley, and Jacob Billingsley.  Honorary pallbearers:  Galen Anderson, Wesley Billingsley, and Paul Phillips.
