Mr. Dennis Ray Byrd, age 72 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the LaFollette Medical Center in LaFollette, TN.  Born April 8, 1945 in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Lydge Terry and Martha Cook.  He was a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Helenwood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three wives:  Geraldine Smith, Rudy Byrd and Vearl Byrd.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his children:  Ricky Byrd of Helenwood, Mary Lee and husband Danny of Annadell, Melissa Jones and husband Barry of High Point, Angela Newport and husband Allen of Helenwood, Denise Byrd of Helenwood, and Heather Rutherford and husband David of LaFollette; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. 

Friends may visit with the Byrd family on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Reynolds officiating.  Music will be provided by the New Life Singers. 

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Rose Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
