Edith Smithers Storey, age 85 of Oneida, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Parkwest Medical Center  in Knoxville, TN.  Born March 2, 1932 in Elgin, TN, she was the daughter of the late Pharoah and Tema Lackey Smithers.  Edith was a born again Christian, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Oneida, TN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Glenn Storey; son:  Gary Dean Storey; father and mother-in-law:  Claude and Florence Storey, three brothers:  Curtis, Charles and Pharoah Junior; three sisters:  Wanda Ruth Henry, Sarah Bowling and Betty Young; and three infant siblings; three sisters-in-law:  Ruth, Velma and Judy; four brothers-in-law:  Everett Bowling and Gus Young.

Edith is survived by two sons:  Allen Storey of Huntsville, AL, and Jeff Storey of Knoxville, TN, brother:  Barney Smithers of Elgin, TN; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Storey family on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Doug White officiating.

Burial will follow in the Carson Memorial Park.
