Fred William Stephens, age 64 of Winfield, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Big South Fork Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1953 to the late Edward and Dorthy Daughtery Stephens of Winfield. 

Fred was a member of Winfield Baptist Church, where he enjoyed helping as much as he was able. Fred was a Sawyer for many years. 

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by grandparents, Culture and Allie Childers Daughtery and Jerry and Mary Stephens; brother, Fos Stephens; sister, Doris Martin; niece, Terri Stephens; nephew, Phillip Stephens; mother and father in law, Opalene and Carthell Stephens; five special aunts, Dora Strunk, Ruth Chitwood, Orphie Stephens, Velma Stephens, and Zola Crabtree; five uncles, Earl, Jr., Paul, Milford and Silas; special cousin by marriage, Eddie Stephens. 

Fred is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sara Stephens; daughters, Mary Watson of Winfield and Ina and Andrew Anderson of Oneida; four grandchildren Cody Watson and girlfriend Savannah Terry, Isiah Watson, McKenzie Anderson, and Dylan Anderson; brother, Fenton Stephens and wife, Teresa; two sisters, Faye Strunk and husband, Jim, and Melissa Slaven of Oneida; two aunts by marriage, Alene (Elmon) Strunk and Clara Creekmore; special cousins, Flodie, Jimmy, Earlene, Rene, Jo and Barb; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. 

Friends may visit with the Stephens family on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home, with Bro. Robert Blankenship and Bro. Delmas Watson. 

Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the New Light Cemetery in Winfield, TN.  Pallbearers will be Ray, Andrew, Dwayne, Jeremy, Wess, Dale, Carl, Cody, Isiah, Dylan, and Chris.
