Jerry Lee Newport, age 58 of the Mountain View Community, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born on July 13, 1958 to the late Clifton and Madlynne Newport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years Debbie Clark Newport; sister Zondria Kay Martin; brother George Duncan; grandparents Fletcher and Delphia Newport and Doc and Della Duncan; sister-in-law Linda Conner.

He is survived by one daughter Cheyenne Newport Terry and husband Floyd of Robbins, TN; twin sister Erma Laxton and husband Mike of Cannonsburg, PA and sister Elizabeth Phillips of Knoxville, TN; two granddaughters Jerri Lin Terry and Harley Jo Terry; special friends: Mike Daugherty, Les Smart, Daniel and Angel Bobo, George Walker, and many more special nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may visit with the Newport family on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 6 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Music will be provided by the Whitewater Bluegrass Band.

Graveside service will be on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
