Nelson Harness, Jr., age 70, of the Brimstone Community, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.  Born March 10, 1947 to the late Nelson and Mary Harness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Harness; two infant children: Patrica and David Harness; brothers Charles and Raymond Harness; three sisters: Wanda Gail, Joyce Faye and Rosalee.

Survived by his son Nelson Harness and wife Norma of Robbins, Tennessee; daughters Debbie Pritt and husband James of Blountville, Tennessee and Shawna Harness of Robbins, Tennessee; one step daughter Nikki Wentz and husband Archie of Robbins, Tennessee; grandchildren: Brian Jones, Amber Jeffers, Allison Francis, Breanna Harness, Olivia Pritt, Alyssa Pritt, Dalton Harness; two great grandchildren Davin Jones and Kable Jeffers; brothers Wayne and Wendell (Gid) Harness of Robbins, Tennessee; sister Marilyn Byrge of Helenwood, Tennessee; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Harness family on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Byrge officiating.  Music will be provided by his sister Marilyn Byrge and Leshia Byrge.

Interment will follow in the Laurel-Dale Cemetery in Rugby.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nelson Harness, Brian Jones, Gid Harness, Rodney Lawson, Eric Lawson and Archie Wayne.
