Sarah M. West

Sarah M. “Lissie” West, age 94 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Huntsville Manor.  Sarah was born August 4, 1923 in Scott County, Tennessee to the late Crawford and Josephine Babb West.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom West; nephew who was raised as her son, Elmer Lee Burress; great-grandson, Brandon Woodward; brothers, Clarence West and Arvil West; sisters, Lassie Mae Burress and Monnie Chitwood; nephews, Jerry West and Charles West; nieces, Lela Lawson and Susie Stephens and husband, Estel.

Sarah is survived by nieces and nephews, Reda Burress, Sue Bunch, Anna Mae Lowe, Billy Glenn Burress, Jimmy West, Bobby West, Luke West, David West, Nancy West, Lindy Carol West; great nieces and nephews that she considered grandchildren, Richard Burress and wife, Lori, Lisa Hamilton and husband, Randy, Jeannie Bridges and husband, Thomas, Christopher Burress, Stephen Burress and wife, Elizabeth, and Melvin Stephens and wife, Sue; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the West family on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community.
