Charles Herbert "Herb" Jeffers

Charles Herbert “Herb” Jeffers, age 77 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his home.   Born March 16, 1941 in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Isham and Flara Bell Duncan Jeffers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother:  Larry D. Jeffers.

Herb is survived by his wife:  Jeane Jo Laxton Jeffers; children:  Greg Jeffers and wife Tina, Traci Lowe, Rena Erwin and husband Mike, Darren Newport and fiancée Danielle; step-children:  Bobbi Jo Roberts and husband Darrell, and Michael Newport and wife Shawna; grandchildren:  Jessica Jeffers and husband Chuck, Charlsie Miller and husband Randy, Caleb and Jacob Jeffers, Savanna Yancey and Kayla Lowe, Calvin and Ethan Erwin, Blake, Isabel and Sierra Newport; step-grandchildren:  Alex, Mason and Isaac, and Evan Roberts, Emma Isaiah, Nichole, Kierstan and Makayla Newport; great grandchildren:  Charlie and Josiah Jeffers, Greyson Miller,  Bailey and Lily Yancey, Nolan and Henry Erwin; one nephew:  Larry Edward Jeffers; special friends:  Johnny Phillips and Dennis Sexton; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Landon Sexton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Darren, Blake, Evan, Caleb, Jacob and Ethen.
