Christopher Ellis Obituary

Lonnie Christopher “Chris” Ellis was born on October 14th, 1970. He was the oldest child to Karen and the late Lonnie Ellis. Chris attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a degree in Forestry. He worked for the Tennessee Forestry Department for 20 years.

Chris was gifted in so many areas in his life and could fix anything and build anything. He was an amazing son, brother, & friend but his greatest gift was being a father. Chris loved his two kids more than anything and revolved his life around them.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandfather James Herbert Chambers of Huntsville, Calvert & Alma Ellis of Oneida, & his beloved father Lonnie Ellis of Helenwood.

He will be forever remembered by his mother Karen Ellis of Huntsville, grandmother Nona Lee Chambers of Huntsville, brother Jamie Ellis of Cookeville, sister Megan Hubbard of Johnson City, two nieces Maddison & MaKennah Ellis of Cookeville, a niece & nephew Kara & Luke Hubbard of Johnson City, precious daughter Kristen Spradlin of McCreary County Ky, precious daughter Lacey Ellis of Oneida, and two precious granddaughters Willow & Hadlie of McCreary County Ky. Chris had so many other relatives and friends.

Chris always maintained his belief in God. It was very important to him to teach his children about God. On his nightstand is his bible and a children's bible he used to teach his precious 5 year old daughter Lacey about God. Here are some of his final words to his family, "I have been praying and I'm at peace within myself and with Jesus. Please get involved in church and seek to live for God in everything that you do." We are taking comfort in those words and the peace that he did have, and everyone noticed, those last couple of days. We know that he is in heaven now.

Chris' request was cremation.

The family will have a memorial service to celebrate Chris and his life on Sunday night at the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. The service will begin at 5 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
