Earline George age 81, passed away at the Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Lord called our loving and sweet mother to be with him on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She was born in Columbia, Kentucky on February 18, 1937 to Riley Thomas and Leoner (Blaydes) Bennett.
Earline was a kind and sweet, loving lady who will be missed by many. She never did anyone wrong and loved watching the kids play. She loved football, going to the Titans and Colts games. Simply put she just loved life.
Earline loved and lived with her partner in life Glen Mays in Lebanon, Tennessee for many years. They retired on the same day and began a life of travel and enjoyed life immensely. They moved to Oneida, Tennessee to be closer to family because of their health to finish their life together. There they joined the Pine Hill Baptist Church. After Mr. Mays passed away in October 2016, Earline moved to Indiana to be with family so they could care for her. They both shared many joys of their travel with family and friends.
Earline was the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. Three preceded her in death: Lennis Bennett, who passed at an early age, Ray Bennett, and Chester Bennett who passed in Glasgow, Kentucky.
Survived by brothers: Coy, Carroll Wayne, and Raymond Bennett all from Columbia, Kentucky; sisters: Rosie and Mary Louise Bennett of Columbia, Kentucky and Mayrine (Calvin) of Nicholasville, Kentucky; four children: Rick George, who passed in 2006, Deborah (Darren) Fowler of Greensburg, Indiana, Donna (Jeff) Smith of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Kenneth (Ginger) George of Greenwood, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Matthew West, Lisa Schneider, Teresa Smith, Amanda Barnhorst, Daniel Smith, Erica George and Susanne George; nine great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
While in Indiana she lived with her daughter Debbie and family and then as a resident at the Heritage House Rehabilitation and Assisted Living. She loved her stay there and made many friends who will miss her tremendously. She loved the Lord and singing the old gospel songs. She is truly an angel in Heaven.
