Hubert Davis Obituary

Mr. Hubert Davis, age 93 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Facility. Born March 1, 1925 in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late James Howard and Mary Elizabeth Terry Davis. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army; and a Deacon of the Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church since 1985.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his brothers: Herthel and Robert Lee Davis; sisters: Millie and Hattie Davis, and Ona Davis West; brothers and sisters-in-law: John Heller, Gilbert Lee West, Loy and Minda Thomas, Bill and Ressie West and Denzil Gregory; and son-in-law: Ira Payne.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 72 years: Gertrude Thomas Davis; sons: Rodney Davis and wife Pam, and Bryan Davis and wife Kim; daughters: Carol Jean Payne, Teresa Terry and husband Robbie, and Sherrie Warren and husband Phillip; brother: Herbert Davis and wife Margaret; sisters: Ruth Heller, Osa Boyatt, Flo Chambers, Mary East, and Dinah Phillips and husband Clois; sister-in-law: Lucille Gregory; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Davis family on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Terry and Bro. Bobby Hill officiating. Music will be provided by: Irene Chitwood and Imogene Laxton.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
