John Robert Sexton Stephens

John Robert Sexton Stephens, age 70 of Oneida, TN took his journey home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1948 in Scott County, TN. He pastored the Heartland Full Gospel Church from 2003 to 2017 and sung with the New Jubilee’s.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Calvin and Minnie Stephens, Dan and Katherine Sexton; father, Homer Sexton; brother, Ray Sexton; brothers-in-law, Jerry Sills and Royce Caudill; and grandson, Taylor Stephens.

John leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Janice; children, John C. Stephens of Winfield, Clayton and Christy Stephens, Billy and Beth Stephens, Tabitha Bowling-Stephens of Oneida; loving mother, Flora Sexton of Oneida; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Caudill, Sharon and John O’Barr, Helen and Jim Yancey, Kim and Frank Foster, Lois and Robert Wright; brothers, Curley and Barb Sexton, Joe and Melissa Sexton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Friends may visit with the Stephens family on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. at Little Charity Ministries with Bro. Joe West, Bro. Donnie Silcox and Bro. Daniel Woods officiating. Music will be provided by Sam Yancey, Shepard’s Way and The Neal Family.

Graveside service will be on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Carson Memorial Cemetery in Oneida.
