Kathleen P. Stephens Smith of Fairview, Texas passed away on November 25, 2019 at the age of 90. She was born on June 14, 1929 to George W. Posey and Maudie Lee (West) Posey in Pinsonfork, Kentucky. She married Elmon L. Stephens on December 17, 1945. She married Talmadge Smith on September 14, 1982. Kathleen attended the West Oneida Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her father, George W. Posey; mother, Maude Lee West Posey of Oneida, TN; husband, Elmon L. Stephens and his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Stephens of Winfield, TN; second husband, Talmadge Smith of Oneida, TN; brothers, Clyde Haron Posey and wife Casteen Posey of Vancouver, WA, James H. Posey and wife Ann Posey of Oneida, TN; sisters, Rosa Lee Posey Taylor of Vancouver, WA, Mildred Posey Thomas and husband Gabriel of Knoxville, TN, Anna Jean Posey Davidson of Oneida, TN, baby sister, Alma Ruth Posey of Oneida, TN, Charlotte Sexton of Huntsville, Tennessee, and Violet Cross and her husband, Rothel Cross of Oneida; son-in-law, John W. Allphin of McKinney, Texas; great-granddaughters, Amalie Faith Allphin of Frisco, Texas and Addison Louise Glover; brothers-in-law, Claude Taylor of Vancouver, Washington, Wade Davidson of Oneida, Tennessee, Ruble Sexton of Helenwood, Tennessee, and Marion Carson of Helenwood, Tennessee.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Helen S. Allphin-Reed and her husband, C. Tony Reed of McKinney, Texas, Diana C. Perry of Winfield, Tennessee; sons, Royce W. Stephens of Caryville, Tennessee, Ronald E. Stephens and his wife, Sherrie of Oneida; grandchildren, Stephen Allphin and his wife, Sherry of Aubrey, Texas, Brian Allphin and his wife, Beth of Frisco, Texas, Melissa Davis and her husband, Bob Thurber of Pike Road, Alabama, Michelle Laxton King and her son Brandon Laxton of Strunk, Kentucky, Michael Davis of Winfield, Tennessee, Elizabeth Stephens and her husband, Matt McWhorter of Albany, Kentucky, Amanda Stephens and her children Allie and Cara of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Veronica L. Stephens of Loudon, Tennessee, Shawn Bradford of Texarkana, Texas; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Elizabeth Allphin of Frisco, Texas, Carson, Grayson and Hudson McWhorter of Albany, Keara McWhorter of Albany; step-grandson, Gage Tucker of Whitley City, Kentucky; sister, Gaylia Carson Strunk of Knoxville; special friends, Cheryl Boyatt of Oneida and Mary and her staff at Nedges Nest in Allen, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and step-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum and Bro. Larry Ellis officiating. Music will be provided by the Chitwood family.

Committal service will follow in the Troxel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Davidson, Greg Cross, Danny Carson, Clifton Posey, Danny Thomas and Paul Sexton.
