Kenneth Lee "Bud" Jeffers

Kenneth Lee “Bud” Jeffers, age 79 of Oneida, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 with his brother and sisters by his side. Born in Scott County, TN on January 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Gleason and Reba Ooten Jeffers. Bud’s mind was very sharp. He could recall names and buildings that many other people could not recall from long ago of Scott County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nela Cox Jeffers; brother, Billy Joe Jeffers; infant brother, Danny Jeffers; infant sister, Shirley Sue Jeffers and several other relatives.

Bud is survived by his first wife, Marilyn Rogers; two sons, Duane Allen Jeffers and Gregory Lee Jeffers; stepdaughter, Rita Salesman, all of Indiana; brother, James Steve Jeffers and wife Cindy; sisters, Joyce Ann Allen of Lebanon, TN, Betty Jean Smith and Helen Ruth and Richard Houdeshell; sister-in-law, Naomi Jeffers of Oneida; stepson, Jason Salesman; two step grandchildren, Jasmine and Kasaundra Salesman of Indiana; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Joe West officiating. Music will be provided by Allen Carson.

Committal service will follow in the Strunk Cemetery in the Little Creek Community in Huntsville, TN. Pallbearers will be: Darrell Houdeshell, Anthony Smith, Kimberly Fryar, Matthew Jeffers, Scott Jeffers and Gary Jeffers.
