Odell Sexton, Jr. age 96 of Oneida, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at his home. Born in Scott County on May 24, 1923, he was a decorated WWII Veteran, serving in the 82nd and 101st Air Borne and the 1st Special Forces. Everyone he met knew his generous nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents Odell and Lillie Bell Sexton; wife Dorothy Sexton; sisters: Georia Lee Estes and Cleo Murphree; brother-in-law Von Murphree.
He is survived by his sons: Terry (Chris) Sexton and John (Jennifer) Sexton; daughters: Penny (John) Hood and Judy Connolly; grandchildren: Aaron Sexton, Dana (Dan) MacGregor, Samantha Hood, Sean Connolly, Robby and Alex Sexton, Merisa Gordon, and Dan and Emily Nawrocki; great granddaughter Drew; brother-in-law Kenneth Estes, special relatives and friends Mick Reed, Max Carroll and Tim King; special friend and caregiver Skylar Newport; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 3 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community.
