Reba E. Phillips Bowling, age 80 of Helenwood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 24, 2019 at her home with her loving family and friends by her side. Born in Scott County, Tennessee on August 28, 1938 to the late Polie and Mary Elsie Phillips. She was a born again Christian and enjoyed serving God and reading her Bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband who was the love of her life, Rev. Virgil Bowling; two sisters Wilma Jean Phillips and Judy Carol Phillips; one niece Heather Renea Bowling; one nephew Johnny Chitwood; special friends: Doris Marcum, Grace Phillips, and Justine Phillips.
She is survived by her sisters: Thelma Edith Chitwood, Annie Duncan and husband James of Cherry Fork, Josephine Bowling and husband Arthur of Morgan County, Kathleen Phillips and husband Robert of Helenwood; brothers: Polie Leroy Phillips and wife Wilma Lee of Winfield and Arnold Phillips and wife Jeannie of Oneida; special friend and a wonderful neighbor Fred K. Phillips; special friends: Sarah Cross, Patricia Burke, Danny Ray and Cheryl, Mak and Annie Thompson; Sissy and Dr. Cheryl Black; and several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to: Mark’s Family Pharmacy and Tennova Hospice.
Friends may visit with the Bowling family on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Bowling, Bro. Keith Marcum and Bro. Steve Hodges officiating. Music will be provided by: Jamie Bowling, Arthur Bowling and the Phillips Trio which consists of: Michael, Michella and Betty Jo Phillips.
Graveside service will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Daniel Memorial Cemetery in Helenwood, Tennessee. Serving as pallbearers will be: Alan Botts, Jamie Bowling, Michael Phillips, Frank Smithers, Gary Phillips, and Roy Lee Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers: Arnold Phillips and Arthur Bowling.
