Robert (Bob) H. Foster

Mr. Robert (Bob) Harold Foster, age 90 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville, TN.  Born August 16, 1927 in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Elzie and Letha Thomas Foster.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother:  Arnold Foster of Phoenix, AZ; grandparents:  Ephraim and Margaret Boyatt Foster and John and Emily Chambers Thomas.

He is survived by his sons:  Robert Thomas Foster and wife Rachel, Bryon C. Foster and wife Jimmie; daughters:  Beverly Warner and husband Don, Kim Phillips and husband Shane, Tami Constantine and husband Steve; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers:  Autho (Bo) Foster and wife Judy, Elzie Foster, Jr. and wife Jean; sisters:  Ruth Malloy and Doreen Slaven, both of Ohio; and many other family members and friends.

He was saved at an early age at the Foster Crossroads Baptist Church and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida.  Robert was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII. He was an active member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and various medical boards in TN, and recently received the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Scott County Boys and Girls Club.

Robert was loved by all who knew him.  He worked as a hospital/long term care administrator which started in 1960 when he was the Administrator at Johnson City Hospital, then Administrator at Gordon Hospital in Lewisburg, TN, and on to Scott County Hospital and Nursing Home, then to Jefferson Memorial Hospital.  He carried on as Interim Administrator at Cocke Co. Hospital, and also Nursing Home service until 2008.  

Friends may visit with the Foster family on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Kazee and Bro. Troy Burchfield officiating.  Music will be provided by the Daniel Northrup Family.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Grave Hill Cemetery in Oneida, TN with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.  Pallbearers will be:  Jonathan Shropshire, Jeff Hawn, Aaron Foster, Daniel Foster, Steve Constantine and Shane Phillips.
