Terry Eugene VanHook

Terry Eugene VanHook, age 65 of Dandridge, TN, formerly of Oneida, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his home.  Born October 15, 1953 in Scott County, TN, he was the son of the late Robert Cecil and Carlene Simpson VanHook.  Terry was a member of the Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church until he moved to Dandridge and became a member of Deep Springs Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved to play guitar and sing, as well as fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers:  Robert Cleveland and James William VanHook; sister:  Janice Tamboer; and grandchild:  Maraleigh Chambers.

Terry is survived by his wife:  Barbara Mullins VanHook of Dandridge; children:  Heather VanHook Serra, Amber Hicks and Erica Phillips and fiancé D’lan, all of Oneida; brothers:  Richard VanHook and wife Rhonda of Goldsboro, NC, and Kenneth VanHook and wife Geneva of Oneida, TN; sisters:  Judy Autry and husband Harold, Nancy Hunt and husband Worley, and Paula Sexton and husband Carl, all of Oneida, TN; 7 grandchildren:  Jacob Serra of Maryville, Marcqee Serra and Kaylee Serra of Oak Ridge, TN, Carmen Chambers of Oneida, Kiera Phillips of Oneida, TN, Aubriana Mabry, and Xander Hicks of Oneida, TN; 2 great granddaughters: Ava and Alora Ann; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the VanHook family on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. at the Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church
with Bro. Marcus Burchfield officiating.

Following the service, Terry requested cremation.
