Walter Williams Obituary

Walter Howard Williams, age 95 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro. He was a native of Scott County, Tennessee and was born in the Norma Community near Oneida and was a son of the late Frank and Kizzie Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lawson Williams and a son in law, John Jackson Wilks.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Wilks of Murfreesboro; a brother, Gene Williams of Fayetteville, GA; nieces, Brenda Williams, Sharon Williams Hill, Velva Lawson Jones and a nephew, Stephen Frank Lawson and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mr. Williams was a United States Army Veteran who served during WWII. Howard and Nora lived in Huntsville for forty-eight years and during that time he worked for NASA in Huntsville, Alabama as an engineering technician on the Gemini space flight program.

A graveside service with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. EST Saturday at Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, Tennessee under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro.
