Betty Jo King Obituary

Betty Jo King, age 86 of Robbins, TN passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wayne County, KY on February 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Lydia Thompson Taylor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister; beloved daughter-in-law, Linda King; sisters, Grace and Herbert Dunagan of Kentucky, Fredia and Charles Leonard of Ohio, Elsie and Doc Haynes of Ohio, Mae and Don Becker of Ohio, and Jenny and Melvin Abshear of Ohio; brothers, Starlin Taylor of Kentucky and Frank Taylor of Indiana; brothers-in-law, Jim King of Ohio, Charles King of Tennessee, Dean and Faye King of Tennessee, Lee and Georgia King of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Joyce King of Tennessee, Edna and Floyd Trammell of Tennessee, and Bonnie York of Indiana.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Junior M. King; five sons, Kenny and Pam King, Rick and Becky King, David King, Carl King, John King; two daughters, Mary King and companion Ray Smithers, Barbie and Jerry Cox, all of Robbins; grandchildren, Michelle, Amanda, Jamey, Trista, Heather, Rikki, Nikki, Johnathan, Jordan, Peyton, Sharissa, Becky, Isaac, Brandon, Brooke, Bethany, Ashley, Chad, Heidi, and Savannah; several great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruby and David Freels of Tennessee, Orangie and Willis Davis of Tennessee, Ann King of Ohio, Pam King of Tennessee and Eula Taylor of Kentucky; brother-in-law, Arlie York of Indiana; special hospice nurses, Amanda Johnson, Brenda Smith, and Kendra Brown; caregiver, Dottie Hutcherson; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the King family on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Davis and Bro. Mike Carroll officiating. Music will be provided by The Cook Girls.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins. Pallbearers will be: Jamey King, Jonathan Durand, Isaac King, Brandon King, Chad Hughett, and Jeremy Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be: Howard Kidd, Tim Blevins, and Michael Brewster.
