Charlie (Hawk) Sexton, age 67 of Robbins, TN, departed this life on Friday, July 17, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Nashville, TN on December 4, 1952, he was the son of the late Ezra Sexton and the late Louise McDonald. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie McCranie; sisters, Mae, Mary Ellen, Charlene and Evelyn; brothers, Raymond and Allen; two infant sisters; two infant brothers; special friend and brother-in-law, Leonard Abney.
Charlie is survived by his children, Peggy (Tim) Watson and David (Amanda) Sexton; grandchildren, Kristen, Joey, Megan, Timia, Kloie, Kylie and Kaiden; great grandchildren, Willow, Hadlie and Ellie; one brother, Alvin McDonald; two sisters, Christine McDonald Abney and Mazine McDonald; one special aunt, (babe) Mary Elizabeth Hunt; his special friend, Roger Sexton; his fur baby, Sammy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church with his son, Bro. David Sexton and Bro. Moe Crabtree officiating. Music will be provided by the Crabtree girls and Victory Bluegrass.
Committal service will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Helenwood. Pallbearers will be: Shawn McDonald, Tommy Silcox, Ladd Phillips, Tracy Lawson, Bill Phillips, Chester Phillips and Tina Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be: Roger Sexton, Jacob Crabtree, Jerimiah Crabtree and Jordan Chambers.
