Clara Creekmore Obituary

Clara Duncan Creekmore, age 97, passed peacefully from this life to her Heavenly home on Sunday, March 21, 2021, surrounded by her family.  Born August 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson and Flo King Duncan.  Clara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14.  She was a long-time member of Winfield Baptist Church, as well as First Baptist Church of Huntsville, and currently a member of First Baptist Church of Oneida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years:  Clay Creekmore; granddaughter:  Shawna Corder; great grandson:  Seth York; brothers:  Robert, Kenneth (DoraMae), Sherman, and Flenor (Evelyn); sisters:  Irene (Albert) Strunk, Ruth (James) Stephens, Rosa (Carthel) Stephens, Flo (Kenneth) Stephens; in-laws:  Tom Stephens, Lucille and Claude Terry, and Paul and Jenny Creekmore; and special cousin:  Beulah Murphy.

Clara is survived by children:  Patricia Foster of Huntsville, Paulette and David Acres of Harriman, and Clay Randy and Rhonda Creekmore of Elwood, IN; grandchildren:  Yvette (Bill) Reeder, Timothy (Tiffany) Acres, Clay Richard (Lisa) Creekmore, and Stephanie Shepard; great grandchildren:  Adam Crabtree, Paige (Jacob) Butts, Kanyon Corder and Julie, Maddie York, Katilyn, McKenzie, Camryn and Audrey Acres, and Chad Burnette; great-great grandchildren:  Khloe, Ryan, Gunnar, and Gracie Butts, Emma, Lilly and Jordyn York.  She is also survived by her sister:  Alene (Elmon) Strunk; sisters-in-law:  Wanda Raines, and Carol Creekmore Stephens; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Creekmore family on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Winfield Baptist Church with Bro. David Acres officiating.  The family requests that with the Health Guidelines in place at this time, they respectfully ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers of Disease Control.  Masks are required. 

Committal service will follow in the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Tim Acres, Clay Creekmore, Adam Crabtree, Jacob Butts, Ray Strunk, and Jeremy Stephens.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Bill Reeder and Dwight Murphy.

In Lieu-of-flowers, donations may be made to:  The Winfield Baptist Church Building Fund, 180 New Light Rd., Winfield, TN   37892.
