Franklin D. Lloyd Obituary

Franklin D. Lloyd, age 85 of Spring City, TN passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. Originally from Norma, Tennessee, he was one of 11 children. He was of the Baptist faith.

Frank served 10 years in the U.S. Army and retired from Greyhound Lines, Inc. after 30 years of service in various positions. He loved traveling the U.S., camping and, most of all, family. At work, he was nicknamed "The Country Gentleman” and “Eagle Eye” for his attention to detail. Always willing to help, he took on many projects from being a Scout Master, Band Booster and Girl Scout Cookie Chairman. He was a quiet, gentle, good man who valued integrity and hard work. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandparent, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ella (Douglas) Lloyd; siblings, Pauline (Bertis) Neal, Ella Ruth (James) Carender, James Edward (June) Lloyd, Myrtle (Joe) Terry, Barbara (Roger) Beu, Patsy Shelton, Brenda (Jimmy) Evans and Doug Lloyd; brother-in-law, Gran Simpson; and grandson, Charles Ozias Lloyd.

Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Agnes (Phillips) Lloyd; children, Jeff (Kim) Lloyd and Renee Lloyd (Brian) Werner; grandchildren, Jeffery Lloyd, Jr. and Stacie (Jeff) Beddingfield; great grandchildren, Elaina and Claire Beddingfield; sisters, Judy Simpson and Terrie (James) Morgan; brother-in-law, Jimmy Shelton; sister-in-law, Becky Lloyd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Lloyd family on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Graveside and committal service will follow in the Sunny View Cemetery in Oneida with Bro. Will Gouge officiating with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Music will be provided by Tina Simpson. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
