Grady Gene 'Pops' Jones

Grady Gene Jones, known to all as Pops, passed away at the age of 78 in Huntsville, TN at his home on Monday, July 20, 2020.  Born July 18, 1942 in Gibson, TN, he was the son of the late Grady and Mary Jones.  Gene was the husband of the late Gail Ann Duerkes Jones, and father of the late Michael Steven Jones.  Pops was a Christian and child of God.

Pops is survived by his children:  Douglas Gene Jones and wife Parisa of Sevierville, TN, Phillip Jones and wife Lori of Oneida, TN, Teresa Tritt and husband Steve of Jackson, TN, and Laura Jones of Huntsville, TN; brother:  Bobby Jones and wife Vera of Gibson, TN; grandson:  Alex Jones; and granddaughter:  Claire Jones.  His constant companions, Katie and Casper, will feel his absence.  We deeply appreciate Michelle Ashcraft and the care team of the University of TN Hospice, as well as his daughter, Laura, who provided him great care, love and laughs.

Graveside service will be held on Friday July 24, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the Mossop Cemetery with Rev. Devon Reynolds officiating, and with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
