Howard Smithers

Howard Allen Smithers, age 78 of Huntsville, TN passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the Huntsville Manor Nursing Home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Scott County, TN on January 28, 1942. He was a member of East Robbins Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Juanita Smithers Bowling and dad, Ed Smithers and wife Faye Overton Smithers; stepdad James Robert (Bo) Bowling; 2 infant children; 3 brothers, Gene Smithers, Willie Smithers and James Smithers; 6 sisters, May Lawson, Zilpha Seibers, Sara Newport, Sue Bowling, Mary Chitwood and Versie Muse.  

Howard is survived by 5 kids, Frank Smithers of Huntsville, Vernion Smithers of Petros, Wendle and wife Rita Smithers of West Robbins, Doyle Smithers and companion Wilma of Brimstone and Vera and Henry Strunk of Allardt, TN; 3 brothers, Daniel Smithers of Huntsville, Gleason and wife Nancy Smithers of Robbins, Ray Smithers and companion Mary of Straight Fork; 1 sister, Cora Moffett and husband Barney of Straight Fork; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Bowling of Brimstone and Vernon Seibers of Petros; 5 grandkids, 5 great grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.
