Imogene (Shelton) Slaven, age 82 of the Paint Rock Community in Oneida, TN, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Born July 20, 1938 in Scott County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Ora Shelton. Imogene was a member of the Pentecost Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Chester Slaven; sister: Rema Hitch; brother: Joe Shelton; mother and father-in-law: Arnie and Mitchel Slaven; sister-in-law: Lula Slaven; brothers-in-law: Mac Slaven and Dorsey Thompson; nephew: Timothy Thomas; and niece: Cathy Neer.
Imogene is survived by her children: Steve Phillips and wife Karie, Debbie Gibson and husband Benny, Ron McCartt, and Cindy Day and husband Randall; grandchildren: Telisha, Krista and Trevor McCartt, and Eric Gibson and wife Ashley; great grandchildren: Shalena, Miranda, Alexis, Eli and Avery; brothers: Jack Shelton and wife Brenda, and Jim Shelton and wife Patsy; sister: Marie Slaven Thompson; brother-in-law: Winford Slaven and wife Faye; sister-in-law: Marie Thomas and husband Gayson; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Friends may visit with the Slaven family on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Ledford officiating.
Committal service will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. in the Foster Cross Roads Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
