James Honeycutt Obituary

James Honeycutt, age 90 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.  Born January 16, 1930 in the Smith Creek Community of Scott County, he was the son of the late Hiram and Ida Ellen Jones Honeycutt.  James worked 42 years for the TN Forestry Service, and loved to coon hunt, and being with his family.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Opal Jeffers Honeycutt; brothers:  William and Walter Honeycutt; and sister:  Golda Jeffers.

James is survived by his sons:  Norman, Darrell and Russell Honeycutt; sister:  Ina Crowley; grandchildren:  Scottie and Amy Honeycutt; special nieces:  Sue Jeffers and Sharon Lowe; sister-in-law:  Margaret Honeycutt; special friends:  Delbert Scott and Paul Terry; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Honeycutt family on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Kidd officiating.   

Committal service will follow in the Ellis Cemetery in Huntsville, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Charles Jeffers, Paul Terry, Bill Terry, Donnie Kidd, Bob Boyatt and Lonnie Lowe.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.  The family requests masks be worn.
