Kathryn Alene Collins Strunk, age 75 of the Foster Crossroads community passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Tennova North in Knoxville, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on July 19, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lola Slaven. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Doris Collins; one daughter, Barbra Collins and one infant daughter; two sisters, Jo (James) Ward and Veda (Robert) Watson; special friend and sister-in-law, Thelma Slaven.
Kathryn is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Elizabeth Dople, Anna Sue Collins, and Janet Chambers (Dillis); one son, James Doris Collins, Jr.; three sisters, Ann Neal of Lebanon, TN, Helen Neal of Oneida, Beatrice (Eddie) Whitehead of Attica, IN; three brothers, Kenneth (Kenzela) Slaven of Veedersburg, IN, Lonnie L. Slaven of Oneida, Cletus (Glenna) Slaven of Pine Knot, KY; seven grandchildren, Karissa, Heather, Alisha, Andrew, Ayden, Angelica, and Addy; 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, Amelia, and Ethan; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Strunk family on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Foster Crossroads Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Boyatt and Bro. Jeff Ledford officiating. Music will be provided by the Foster Crossroads choir.
Committal service will follow in the Foster Crossroads Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Travis Selvidge, Matthew Slaven, Jason Watson, Dillis Chambers, Tom Jeffers, and John Roy Jeffers. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Walden.
With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
