Sonny Letner, age 81 of Oneida, TN passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Meigs County, TN on January 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Ralph and Natia Letner. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Danny, Kevin, and Trina Letner; brothers, Gerald, Don, Tommy, and Dean; sister, Angie; mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Pearl Duncan; granddaughter, Cierra Letner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Bonnie Walters, Sheila Radford, Bill and Barbara Duncan.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Letner; daughter, Bridget and Steve Jeffers; brothers, Bobby, Steve and wife Melinda; sisters, Janet and Wayne Jones, Evelyn, Sally, Carol, Eva May, Sheila and Linda; grandchildren, Daniel and Amy Prewitt, Adam and Brooklyne Jeffers, Sonni and Ryan Strunk, Stevi and Tanner Boshears, William Young, Hunter Letner; great grandchildren; Dalton, Caleb, Devin and Carlie Prewitt, Karlie Branscum, Aleeyah, Pazelynn, Brinleigh, Avery, Addison Jeffers, Serayah and Josie Strunk, Harper and Titan Boshears; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Duncan; many other special relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Letner family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Lay and Adam Jeffers officiating. Music will be provided by Salem’s Little Angels.
Committal service will follow in the Wilhite Cemetery in the Buffalo community. Pallbearers will be: Daniel Prewitt, Dalton Prewitt, William Young, Greg Letner, Adam Jeffers, Caleb Prewitt, Devin Prewitt, and Ryan Strunk.
