Verna Dean Phillips Boyatt

Verna Dean Phillips Boyatt, age 80 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.  Born December 9, 1939 in Scott County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clell and Maye Strunk Phillips.  Dean was a member of the West Oneida Baptist Church; and was a cook for 20+ years at Phillips’ Drive In.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Fred Boyatt, Jr.; brother:  Hubert Phillips; and brother-in-law:  Chris Day; nephew:  Patrick Phillips.

Dean is survived by her daughter:  Tammy Chambers (Kevin); son:  Steve Boyatt (Christel); brother:  Kenny Phillips and wife Imy; sister:  Patty Day and friend Stan Schmit; grandchildren:  Megan Boyatt (Adam), Jordan Chambers (Brittany), Dru Burke (Colby), Jabe Boyatt and Chesnie Boyatt; great grandchildren:  Brogan, Brantlee, Mariana and Remi; special cousin:  Hertis Phillips; and many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Boyatt family on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the Black Oak Baptist Church with  Bro. Kyle Keeton officiating.  Music will be provided by Tammy and Justin Wright.  

Committal service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Jordan Chambers, Jabe Boyatt, Lukas Phillips, Landon Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Shane Phillips and Colby Burke.
