William Lonnie Miller Obituary

William Lonnie Miller, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. He was born on June 21, 1952 in Pine Knot, KY and moved to Oneida TN. Lonnie was saved by God’s marvelous grace when he was younger. For many years he worked for Oneida Water Department and Citizen’s Gas before going to work out of town for Tenny Construction. He later returned home and worked for Strunk Construction before eventually retiring. Lonnie was the son of John and Kathleen Miller. 

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his infant grandson, Quinton Dewayne Miller; infant brother, Wesley; a sister, Bertha Chitwood and husband Johnny; mother-in-law, Kathleen Frye and Junior Frye; brothers-in-law, Jack Frye, James Frye, and Ralph Terry; sisters-in-law, Shirley Frye and Ruth and Albert Bowling; special nephews, John John and Shane Chitwood and Eric Bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Miller; daughters, Helen “Tina” Miller, Serina Shoemaker (Robert Stanley); son, Lonnie Quinton Miller (Esther Terry) and Brad Frye who was his buddy and like his son. His greatest blessings in his life as he said papaws loves his little darlings grandson, Logan Shoemaker; granddaughters, Ashlan Shoemaker, Jocelyn Miller and fiancé Noah Barnett, Patricia Miller, Shontae & Mikah Miller and one very special great grandbaby, Zaiden Grey Leib and his dad Braxton Leib; special family members, Nikki Burke (Matt), Tommy Foster (Lorie), Billy Frye and Keisha Frye. His family was his life and heart in this world. His sister, Dessie Terry; brothers, Jerome Miller and wife Jean, Christopher “ Bo” Miller and wife Sherry; sisters-in-law, Thelma Thomas, Nancy Bowling, Patsy Foster and Sheila Crabtree; special friends that were like his family, Ronnie Ray Thomas, Milford and Weltha Smith and Delbert and Sherlene Sexton, Tammy Braden; his special girls who took care of him at Family & Pediatric Care, Alisha, Monica, Donna and Heather; many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Friends may visit with the Miller family on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Smith officiating.

Committal service will follow in the New Light Cemetery in Winfield. 

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
