Dewayne Day

Dewayne Day, age 67 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Tennova North in Knoxville, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on September 20, 1951, he was the son of the late William Sherman and Anna Mae Harness Day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Lou Goodman Day; siblings, Robert Day, Wilbert Day, Elbert Day, Delbert Day, Everette Day, and Flora Mae Day; and grandson, Dante Issom Hembree.

He is survived by his children, Dewayne Day, Jr., Amelia Day Hembree (Randy) and Henry Day (Christina); two sisters, Cassie Day Hatfield and fiancé Curtis Winnie and Jemima Day Brown and husband Robert; sisters-in-law, Deloris Day, Tina Day, Mickey Day, Mary Day and Debbie Day; special niece, Lisa Leinart; ten grandchildren, Emily Pennington, Rebecca Day, Daniel, Andrew, Eli, and Rachel Hembree, Lily Day, Olivia Day, Katie Day, Korbin Day; and two great grandchildren, Bentley Pennington and Emma Rhae Pennington.

Friends may visit with the Day family on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dudley Harness and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating.

Graveside service will be on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Smokey Creek Cemetery in Huntsville, TN. Pallbearers will be: Willie Day, Matthew Day, Andrew Hembree, Daniel Hembree, Eli Hembree, Kyler Pennington and Cade Sexton.
