Statement on COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Due to our concerns with protecting our employees with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and maintaining a public service to our community, we will be closing our lobbies, with only the exemption of families who have a deceased family member at one of our locations. That includes immediate family members that are making arrangements or are providing things needed to complete the service.
Jones & Son and West-Murley Funeral Homes have no intention of shutting down. Our team plans on continuing to support Scott County-area families during these difficult and uncertain times.
As the news of COVID-19 spreads throughout our community and the world, we want to assure you that we are acting with and abundance of caution when it comes to public health and safety.
**At this time, Governor Bill Lee has issued Executive Orders No. 30, the CDC and the Tennessee Funeral Director Association has released guidelines mandating all funeral homes to use the following orders:
• Only allow 10 people or less for visitations and services (This will be in affect at both funeral home locations).
• For those having a gathering or service, minimize physical contact.
• Postponing larger public services for a later date.
• Limiting the amount of people who come in to make funeral arrangements and offering to do arrangements remotely if possible.
We are asking families to remain mindful of this situation, and we thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to safeguard the wellness of every guest.
