Janice Kay Epperson Smith Obituary

Janice Kay Epperson Smith, age 62, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN.  Born January 3, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Juanita and Dillard Epperson.  She was a member of the Baptist faith; and worked as a cook at the Robbins School.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands:  Gilbert Latham and Luther Smith; brothers:  Charles Epperson and Dennis Epperson; sister:  Wilma Jean Isable; grandparents:  Beste and Melvin C. Foster.

Janice is survived by her daughter:  Angie and Mike Buttram of Helenwood; sons:  Robbie and Tasha Latham of Helenwood, and Mark and Amy Smith of Helenwood, grandchildren:  Chad Buttram of Helenwood, Jessica and Jamie Lackey of Robbins, Michael and Destiney Latham of Helenwood, Kelsey, Paxton, Rhianna, Korben, Ranger Smith, all of Helenwood; great grandkids:  Caylyn Buttram and Jaycee Lackey; special Niece:  Velma Kay Isable; great nephew Charles Epperson; sisters:  Velma June Letner of Huntsville, Anna Faye Bowling of Robbins; brothers:  Horace Epperson of Helenwood, and Roger Dale Epperson of Oak Ridge; special friends:  Larry, Noble Jr.,  Jeff and Ronald Miller, Wilma Buttram, Willie Isable, Chris Ellis, Kathy Carson, Todd Swain, Jeff Buttram, Tonya Coffey, Christa Harris, Billy Bowling and Arielle Strunk; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Ellis and Bro. Paul Duncan officiating.  Music will be provided by Judy and Shane Lowe and the West Oneida Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Love Chapel Cemetery in the Concord Community of Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Larry Noble, Jr., Travis Phillips, Chuck Epperson, Michael Latham, Mark Smith, and Todd Swain.  Alternate Pallbearers will be:  Jamie L., William D. and Colby E.
