Wesley Thomas Laxton, age 53 of Bella Vista, AR, formerly of Scott County, TN, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Circle of Life Legacy Village with his loving family by his side. Born April 13, 1965 in Oneida, he was the son of Jack and Alma Thomas Laxton. He was a member of the Grave Hill Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the United States Navy in which he was awarded the First Good Conduct Medal Award, Navy Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbons with 1 Bronze Star.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father: former Scott County Sheriff Jack O. Laxton; eldest sister: Karen Laxton; grandparents Esau and Mertie Mae West Laxton, and Walter and Rachel Phillips Thomas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Deneil Terry Laxton; his 3 daughters: Meredith Laxton of Savannah, GA, Demi and Madison Laxton of Bella Vista, AR. His mother: Alma Laxton of Oneida; his 4 brothers: Mike and wife Erma of Cannonsburg, PA, Jeff and wife Holly, Darryl and wife Norma, and Scott, all of Oneida; sisters: Marilyn and husband Rick King of Oneida, Jackie and husband Ben Thompson of Lebanon, TN, Patricia and husband Craig Robinson of San Diego, CA, and Stacey and husband Henry Marcley of Port Orange, FL; father-in-law and mother-in-law: B. Clifton and Shirley Terry of Oneida, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marlisa (Greg) Smith of Harriman, TN, Bernard (Ginger) Terry, Chanda Posey of Oneida, TN, and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends Cory (Julia) Beldgya and George Scott of Bella Vista, AR.
Friends may visit with the Laxton family on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Delbert Terry officiating. Music will be provided by John Vernon Thompson, Jr.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Foster Crossroads Cemetery with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Laxton, Jeff Laxton, Darryl Laxton, Scott Laxton, Rick King, Cory Beldgya and Bernard Terry.
