Wilma West Obituary

Wilma Sexton West, of Helenwood, Tennessee, completed her earthly Pilgrimage Monday, July 30, 2018 at her home and answered her Lord Jesus Christ’s call to her eternal home.

 She was born April 19, 1917 in Norma, Tennessee, to Jasper and Emma Jane Sexton, reaching by God’s Grace the age of 101 yrs. She professed faith in Christ at 13 years of age, and was a member of the Helenwood Baptist Church. 

 Wilma loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed writing poems and stories just for her family. She was an avid reader and in her younger years a talented seamstress that could make just about anything she wanted. Most of all Wilma loved to talk about her Lord and his soon coming.

 In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her step mother: Maggie Sexton, husband: William E. (Champ) West; granddaughter: Cynthia Ann West; son in law: Thomas Hall; brothers: Arthur Sexton, Willie Sexton; sisters: Ernie Litton, 3 infant sisters; nephews and nieces: Hildon Litton, Janice Ballard, Marian Sexton, Jack Litton, Norman Sexton. 

 She is survived by her loving children: Roger West and wife Rose of Oneida, Colleen Lay and husband Buford of Westchester, Ohio, Joan Keeton of Helenwood, Mac West and wife Judy of Oneida, Frank West and wife Rebecca of Huntsville, Jim West and wife Yvonne of Helenwood; (15) grandchildren: Greg West and wife Lisa, Chris West, Miche Rose and husband Chris, Tonya Sammons and husband Sam, Jacque Anderson, Kelly Koller and husband Jerry, Ron Keeton and wife Wendy, DeAnna Jeffers, Jeff West and wife Jenifer, Joe West and fiancé Jesi, Lance West, Chanda Smith and husband Tim, Harper Davis and husband Jeff, Jessica Ownby and husband David, James West and wife Sarah; (42) great grandchildren: Matthew West and wife Melissa, Tyler West and wife Alison, Stacia West, Dylan West, Pyper West, Dannon West and fiancé Rissa, Lucas West, Dallas West and wife Sara, Mallory Delk, Chaya Rose, Bristol Rose, Jennifer Avenido and husband Jay, Adam Peace and wife Stephany, Heather Anderson, Chastin Anderson, Chelse Perdue and husband Landon, Haley Koller, Jessy Koller, Seth Keeton, Hope Keeton, Carter Cook, Elijah Keeton, Katie Jeffers, Rebecca Jeffers, Robert Jeffers, James Jeffers, Logan West, Mackenzie West, Candace Hutson, Houston West, Austin West, Gabe West, Emi Smith, Ali Smith, Addie Davis, Enoch Davis, Ruby Ownby, Deacon Ownby, Miles Ownby, Zeke West, Jess West, Ollie West; (8) great great grandchildren: Brody West, Brielle West, Sullivan West, Ada Bell West, Arden Avenido, Hayden Avenido, Jaxon Crummie, Leighton Perdue; nephew and nieces: David Litton and wife Sandra, Sue Bates, Alice Rayburn and husband Frank, Gina Davidson and husband Alan.

 Friends may visit with the West family on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at the White Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Jim West and Bro. Jeff Davis officiating.

 Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 4, at 10 a.m. in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, Tennessee.

Her grandsons are serving as pallbearers.
