Beatrice Lucille 'Granny' Hughett Obituary

Beatrice Lucille Bowling Hughett (“Granny”) was born in Robbins, Tennessee on June 6, 1932.  She went home to the loving arms of Jesus on March 19, 2021. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Bowling, mother, Dorothy Smithers Bowling, and her brother, Dellis Bowling.

She was married to the late William Murl Hughett on February 16, 1952. They were married for forty years. They had 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She adored them all. She cared deeply and selflessly for her family. She was, and still is, loved “a bushel and a peck, with a hug around the neck.”

She gave her heart to Jesus at the age of 14 and was baptized at the West Robbins church. She
lived her life for Christ and His love could be seen in her by all who met her. She loved to attend church services, revivals, singings, and prayer meetings. Over the years, she has been a beloved sister in Christ to several congregations. She has attended many services with her friends and family at New Castle Church of Christ, and has been part of the congregation of Northside Church of God in New Castle for several years. She loved to spend time with her family and many friends. It has often been said, “To know her is to love her.”
