Daniel Smithers Obituary

Daniel Lee Smithers, age 66 of Robbins, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born in Scott County, TN on February 24, 1958.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Juanita Cochran Smithers Bowling; dad, Edward Smithers; stepdad, James Robert Bowling; seven sisters, May Lawson, Zilpha Seibers, Sara Newport, Sue Bowling, Mary Chitwood, Versie Muse, and Catherine Smithers; six brothers, Howard Smithers, Gleason Smithers, Gene Smithers, James Smithers, Willie Smithers, and Keith Smithers.

Daniel is survived by three sons, Mitchell Smithers of Straight Fork, James Smithers of Dalton, Georgia, and Mark Smithers of Oneida; one brother, Leland Ray Smithers of Straight Fork; one sister, Cora Moffett of Straight Fork; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may visit with the Smithers family on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Byrge officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
