Jack Wendell Gibson, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with his family by his side in Sunbright, TN. Born in Robbins, TN on March 11, 1942, he was the son of the late Andrew and Ettie Gibson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all his siblings: brothers, Lee, Walter, Bruce and Jerry Gibson; sisters, Nora Gibson, Mary Jean Hutson, Joyce Dulworth, Esther Honeycutt and Emma Storey.
Jack is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myrna; daughters, Ann Gibson of Sunbright, Stacy and husband John Asberry of Robbins; grandsons, Seth and wife Jennifer Gibson of Oneida, Braxton Asberry of Robbins; great granddaughters, Jackie, Lila Belle and Maggie Gibson, all of Oneida; and many other family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his niece, Jean Barnett for her excellent care during this difficult time.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 4 p.m. in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins with Bro. Robert Blankenship officiating. A full military honors service will be provided by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Don Jones, Joe Miller, Bub Gibson, John Thomas Robbins, Ashley Acres, Rocky Bertram. Honorary pallbearer will be: Barrett Williams.
In accordance with the Governor's Executive Order #22 concerning COVID-19, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures to be taken according to the CDC Health Guidelines in place at this time.
