Lucille Smith Obituary

Lucille Duncan Smith of the Paint Rock community went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Scott County, TN on November 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Leland and Helen Duncan. She was a member and pianist at Old Gum Fork United Baptist Church. She dearly loved playing piano and singing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Smith Lowe; mother-in-law, Della Smith; father-in-law, Isaac (Ike) Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Millard and wife Ruby, Clifford and wife Juanita, Hezekiah, R.L., Bertie, Mildred, Rosie, Ruby, Charlene; niece, Pat Wilkerson; special friend, Mabel Terry.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 54 years, Herbert Smith; daughters, Kandi Roberts and husband Zane, Mary Lou Branim and husband Gary, Kristy Boyatt and husband Barry; brother, Delbert Duncan and wife Shirley; sisters, Nancy Duncan and husband Estel, Kitten Seabolt and husband Wayne, Margie McGhee and husband Dennis; sister-in-law, Phyllis Noble and husband Willie; grandchildren, Dustin, Hallie and husband Brian, Jacob, Storm, Braylynn, Skylor, Jerico, Shae, Neish, Chelsie, Destin; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Tootie Bryant, Velma Terry, Josephine Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jennings Terry and Bro. Jason Burress officiating. Music will be provided by Kandi Roberts and Israel Clark.

Committal service will follow in the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery in the Paint Rock community. Pallbearers will be: Jacob Roberts, Storm Roberts, Stevie Davis, Robbie Evans, Lance McGhee, and Adam McGhee. Honorary pallbearers: Skylor Butler and Jerico Pope.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
