Timothy David Owens

Timothy David Owens, age 56 of Oneida, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born in Oneida, TN on January 23, 1965, he was the son of Rev. O.E. Owens and Helen Owens. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. Tim worked several jobs including Preen Construction and part time for the town of Oneida, among others, but was best remembered as a long-time bus driver for the Scott County Schools. He was also the transportation supervisor for 1 year for the Oneida Special School District.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. O.E. Owens; brother, Orey Owens Jr.; grandparents, Gideon S. Owens and Mandy Carson Owens and Thomas Anderson and Ruby Human Anderson Guffey; father and mother-in-law, Claude and Lora Jones.

Tim is survived by his wife, Zena Rae Jones Owens; mother, Helen Owens; sister, Joyce Foster and husband Paul of Knoxville, TN; brother, Jeff Owens and wife Jamie of Oneida, TN; brother-in-law, Gary Jones and wife Georgia of Helenwood, TN; nieces and nephews; special friends, Billy Hughett, Clifford and Dortha Loggins; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Owens family on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 12 noon in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Lowe officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Owens Family Cemetery in Oneida.
